Our Mission Statement

To support the Vilna & Municipal Library as it strives to encourage literacy, lifelong learning, and the love of reading throughout our diverse community.

To enhance the library's resources, increase the community's access to information and knowledge, and provide for a vibrant cultural gathering place.

Library Cards

 Any person resident in the Village of Vilna, surrounding county area, or Northern Lights System is eligible to apply for a membership card.

Our Fee Structure:

• Adults                                  $10.00
• Family membership            $15.00     
• Seniors                                $8.00

A membership card shall be issued to each borrower. It shall be valid for one year from date of issue or to that point in time it is revoked by the libarian for cause.

Internet Access

Vilna's library has a number of computers available for public Internet access. In addition, the library provides wireless (Wi-Fi) internet access. With any Wi-Fi enabled device such a notebook or a PDA, you can connect to the internet free of charge. You do not require a library card to access the wireless network. Printing is not available though the wireless network.

Users of the wireless network are bound by the terms of the library's Use of Computer Policy. Users assume responsibility for protecting their own devices from viruses and spyware.

Loan Periods for Library Materials 

 At any given time, a patron may have no more than 15 Library items by any author, or of any subject or series in his/her possession.

It is the library manager's decision whether or not to grant special borrowing privileges to patrons who need a great many books or A.V. materials for special projects.

Books may be kept for THREE WEEKS.
A.V. material may be kept for ONE WEEK

Fines

Fines for late return of materials:

• $.10 for each operational day for each overdue book to a maximum of 40 days overdue ($4.00)
• $.25 for each operational day for each overdue A.V. item to a maximum of 20 days overdue ($5.00)
