Support The Library

Like many other libraries and smaller organizations, the Vilna Library depends on the help and support of the community we serve. We're fortunate to have a number of people who contribute in various ways and we appreciate it. We could not have come as far as we have without your help. We are always looking for help! If you would like to volunteer or make a donation of cash or equipment, please contact the library manager or one of our board members.

Material Donations

The library accepts donations of used books and other materials that are in good condition and have a publication date of no later than 5 years from the date of donation.

We may refuse to accept donations that are deemed not to be in good repair, have water damage or other concerns. The library reserves the right to evaluate and dispose of them in accordance with the guidelines applied to purchased materials.

Planned Giving

Public funding supports libraries, but private gifts often allow them to flourish.  What better way to secure the future of the Vilna & District Municipal Library than by making a planned gift. Planned gifts can mean making a gift today, or planning now to make a gift in the future. Making a planned gift will benefit and support your wishes.

Honour With Books

This is a unique way to honour a loved one, a family member, friend, or colleague on the occasion of a birthday, anniversary, or as a memorial. A dedication bookplate will be placed inside the book, with a memo of your choosing. Your donation will help us purchase materials we would otherwise be unable to afford. Donations can be made at the library or mailed to Box 119, Vilna, AB, T0A 3L0.
