Our Mission Statement

To support the Vilna & District Municipal Library as they strive to encourage a lifelong love of reading & literacy within our diverse community, by supporting the further collection of resources, & creating a vibrant, friendly gathering place.

Library Cards

Any person resident in the Village of Vilna, surrounding county area, or Northern Lights System is eligible to apply for a membership card.

Membership cards are FREE for those who qualify. 

A membership card shall be issued to each borrower. It shall be valid for one year from the date of issue.

Internet Access

Vilna Library has a number of computers available for free public high speed internet access. In addition, the library provides wireless (Wi-Fi) access. With any Wi-Fi enabled device such a laptop, tablet or smart phone, you can connect to the internet free of charge, no library membership required. Printing is not available though the wireless network, but is available for a small fee.

Users of the wireless network are bound by the terms of the library's User Agreement Policy. Users assume responsibility for protecting their own devices from viruses and spyware.  

Loan Periods for Library Materials 

At any given time, a patron may have no more than 15 Library items by any author, or of any subject or series in his/her possession.

It is the library manager's decision whether or not to grant special borrowing privileges to patrons who need more materials for special projects.

Books may be kept for 21 days.

A.V. material may be kept for 21 days  

Fines

Fines for late return of materials:

We are no longer charging fines for overdue materials, however, materials borrowed from other libraries are bound by the loaning library's bylaws and fines and we must abide by them. Books that are damaged or lost by patrons, will be charged to the patron, at the appropriate cost of replacement.
